Routine and Extraordinary Maintenance for Dynamometric Brakes
With our extensive experience in test benches, we offer comprehensive routine and extraordinary maintenance services for eddy current brakes. We guarantee our overhauls for a minimum of 6 months, extendable upon request.
Eddy current brakes, subject to wear and vibration, require periodic servicing every 5,000 hours or, for limited usage, every few years to prevent overheating and malfunctions.
Our routine maintenance and overhaul services include:
- Complete disassembly of the brake, including all mechanical and electrical components.
- Dimensional and geometric inspection of mechanical components, such as the shaft with star rotor and labyrinths, to verify eccentricity and flatness.
- Replacement of all bearings and precise inspection of housing tolerances (including tolerance and ovalization checks).
- Replacement of seals to ensure a watertight performance.
- Full internal cleaning of carbonaceous sludge and scale through a specialized treatment.
- Efficiency check of the braking coil and electrical components.
- Verification and restoration of electronic control and monitoring sensors, such as load cells, temperature sensors, RPM detector, and the cooling system.
- Inspection and, if necessary, repair of the electronic power supply for brake control.
- Complete reassembly with replacement of all fastening bolts.
- Complete repainting of the brake for durable protection.
- Final static and dynamic testing, including specific water and power tests to ensure brake reliability.
Additionally, in case of damage or malfunctions, we can promptly provide extraordinary maintenance services to replace defective mechanical or electronic parts, such as motor starter assemblies, relay spindles for mechanical protection, and front flange torque meters.
